Donate online using your credit or debit card NOW!
There is a tailor-made webpage that anyone can log onto to make a secure donation to the charity. They also provide a GiftAid reporting service which automatically generates GiftAid calculations for all applicable donations. These reports are accepted by the HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, formerly the Inland Revenue). What this means is that, for example, a £10 credit or debit card donation from a UK taxpayer would give the Centre £11.93 even after JustGiving's fees are taken out. This gives all of the benefits with none of the hassle!
Did you know?
Charities are missing out on more than £400 million per year because
GiftAid is not always reclaimed on donations.
It is important to remember that GiftAid is very expensive for charities to operate because of the many small amounts donated, for usually there is a small piece of paper for each donation irrespective of the amount donated. It is a very long and expensive process which can produce a small, or even a negative, return after taking out the costs. With the system that JustGiving has, they produce all the reports from all the donations automatically. There are no extra costs involved and, as was stated earlier, the reports are accepted by HMRC.
Fundraisers and supporters alike can access the website and make a donation whenever they wish. But, one major advantage of JustGiving is that any supporter who is raising funds for a specific event, such as the Great North Run, a Garden Party, or even a sponsored Silence, can construct their own fundraising webpage that other people can access and donate online. A link to this page is then emailed to everyone they know, and everyone that they in turn know, so that the coverage for each and every event would be immense! This is a fantastic tool that could work very well for us if we use it to its full advantage. Don't worry if you can't do it on your own, help may be only an email away from someone we know within the Centre. To create your own fundraising page just follow this link to the Centres own JustGiving fundraising section.
For these reasons, the Bury Cancer Support Centre would urge you to use JustGiving for your online donations.
Unfortunately some of us have to suffer the loss of a loved one. If they have enjoyed coming to the Centre, for whatever reason, why not set up an 'In Memoriam' page for friends and relatives to donate to the Centre so that a legacy can be left on their behalf. Just follow this link to see a sample page and, if you wish, set one up in memory of your loved one. www.justgiving.com/bcsc/remember.
If you need any help or advice in setting up your page, whichever one it is, email us (info@cancersupportbury.org.uk) and we will be only too pleased to help you.
