Aromatherapy:

Aromatherapy is a therapeutic treatment using essential oils derived from various parts of plants. Each oil has unique properties and can be inhaled, used in creams or diluted in a vegetable oil to be absorbed through the skin by massage. Aromatherapy massage is a gentle soothing massage using an individual blend of oils, made according to your own requirements, which are applied using a combination of different strokes. it can provide relaxation and comfort, help to reduce anxiety, and may help with physical symptoms and some side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Bowen Technique:

The Bowen Technique is a gentle relaxing light touch therapy that encourages the body to help itself. Bowen is a holistic approach comprising sequences of small cross fibre movements over muscles, tendons or ligaments at specific sites on the body. between each sequence there is a short rest to allow the body to begin to make the fine adjustments and changes needed for rebalancing. Bowen is an effective approach for many conditions including muscular skeletal problems, stress and tension based disorders. in fact most conditions benefit from Bowen.

Counselling:

Do you need to talk? there is always someone to listen or professional counselling is available by appointment to discuss the effects of cancer for you and your family.

Massage:

Massage is the skilled use of touch using a variety of techniques. It can be adapted safely for people with cancer and can be given either lying on a couch or using a massage chair. this can include massage to the back, arms, hands, legs and feet, and head, neck, face, shoulders and scalp as in Indian Head Massage. stroking the body has been reported to slow the heart rate and lower blood pressure. Massage therapy can relieve muscle tension and help with the management of stress, anxiety and insomnia.

Natural Healing:

Natural Healing strengthens your body and mind to deal with the physical, mental, emotional, or even spiritual, difficulties you are experiencing. It works alongside medical treatments to prepare you for treatment or to reduce side effects. Natural Healing treats the whole person - both obvious symptoms and ones 'below the surface' depending on what your body or mind most needs at the time. you stay fully clothed, lying on a couch or sitting on a chair, with or without gentle touch. You feel deeply relaxed both during the Healing and afterwards. As with all therapies, Natural Healing does not claim to cure but helps relax and re-balance you.

Reflexology:

Reflexology is a therapy that involves working areas of the feet and hands that correspond to every part of the body. Working these reflexes promotes relaxation, improves circulation and helps the body to return to its own state of balance. A reflexology treatment works with the body’s own natural healing systems to help with a wide variety of health problems. It can help with the management of pain, nausea and vomiting, constipation, headaches and migraines, poor sleeping, stress and anxiety. .

Reiki:

Reiki (pronounced "Ray-kee") means universal life force energy. This unseen energy flows through all living things. A Reiki therapist is said to direct this energy to all parts of your body either using a "hands on" or a "hands off" approach. You would normally be treated lying down fully clothed. A Reiki treatment is a gentle and non-invasive therapy which helps to balance the body and mind. although it doesn't claim to cure, most people find it a relaxing and calming therapy.

All our therapists are fully trained and qualified. The Centre has a policy of employing only those therapists who are not only fully trained and qualified, but can also demonstrate an attitude of care that is a key element demanded by the Centre.
